The Arcadia Compassion Theatre in the background where all our Liturgical Plays take place.
Not much can be added to this horrific one-time event that took place more than two-thousand years ago. The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is portrayed as found in the Gospels of the Christian Bible. We experience the Way of Sorrow from the Last Supper, the trials of Jesus before the High Priest Joseph Caiaphas, King Herod Antipas and the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate. We see the flogging as done by the Roman soldiers and we walk with the procession to Golgotha where we experience the entire drama of the crucifixion as described in the Gospels.
The audience is part of the production throughout. During the Last Supper, both cast and audience will enjoy Holy Communion after which we follow the procession en route the Way of Sorrow. During our journey, the audience may walk freely to find the best view for themselves.
After the burial of Jesus, cast and audience will return to the main area to listen to the “Resurrection”, the 4th Movement from Gustav Mahler's Symphony no 2 in C flat Major “AUFERSTEHUNG”

Our PASSION PLAY “VIA DOLOROSA” will be repeated every year on Good Friday. Please contact us for more information.
“Via Dolorosa” is an Open Air Music Drama that portrays the crucifixion of Jesus Christ as found in the Gospels of the Christian Bible. It was produced by the Something Magic Theatre Organisation, written and directed by Nymph Kellerman with a cast handpicked from the Rainbow Nation's young and upcoming performing artists. Gary Wilson was Production Manager.
It begins at the Last Supper which is followed by Jesus' appeal in the Garden of Gethsemane for the cup of suffering be taken away from Him. His trials before Caiphas, Herod and Pontius Pilate was followed by the flogging and mocking of the Roman soldiers. Once the cross was given to Him, the full route of the Via Dolorosa was done by both cast and audience until the procession reached the top of Golgotha where the Crucifixion took place in a portrayal of the entire drama as found in the Gospels.
The audience was part of the production throughout. This interaction between performers and audience intensified the individual's experience of the suffering of our Lord.
